Better late than never...

I am obviously over due for posting about anniversary trip from back in November, but here I go anyway...

Jason & I celebrated 5 years of marriage on November 19th, 2010. We talked and talked about where to go & finally realized that we both have lived in Georgia our entire lives and neither of had ever been to Savannah. It was amazing! We will definitely being going back again & again.

We had a warm welcome at The Marshall House in the downtown historic district. The staff was so sweet & helpful & the location was unbeatable! It was in walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. The only

time we got in the car the entire trip was to drive over to Tybee Island for a few hours. We stopped on the way over at Fort Pulaski. It was old, beautiful & full of southern history & free! You can't beat that!!
Our first night in Savannah, we decided to go on the infamous Haunted Pub Crawl. This was a genius idea since I am the biggest chicken on the planet!!! Oh, I forgot to mention that they say The Marshall House is haunted. Needless to say, I didn't sleep at all but it was fun regardless. The majority of our trip was spent walking though the quaint parks and courtyards. We strolled over to Clary's (where a scene from "the movie" was shot) for a fabulous brunch before heading up the street to the fountain at Forsyth Park.
                                                               (Eggs Benidict... Yum!!)
We ate and had a drink, and ate then had two drinks and ate again and drank some more... that really could sum up our trip but a few of our favorite spots were Jen's & Friends Martini Bar & 100 beers, the best Almond Joy martini on the planet! We had a romantic dinner on the patio at Cha-Bella's. All of their veggies & sides are grown on their own organic farm. A nice bottle of wine, pork belly risotto & an organic cheesecake for dessert...it was delicious! (Thanks for the recommendation Karyn!) Last but not least,  Vinnie Van Go-Go's pizza is well worth the wait! It's cheap, scrumptious & HUGE portions. I could go on & on but it will just end it with a few pictures that reflect our amazing anniversary vacation. It's funny how in 4 short hours, you can be a world way!
